An LPA lets people you trust — usually family — step in and act for you if illness, an accident or dementia ever means you can't manage things yourself. Without one, your family faces a slow, expensive court application at the worst possible time. There are two types, and most people need both.
Lets your attorneys deal with the practical, money side of your life:
Lets your attorneys speak for you on care and medical decisions, only if you lose the ability to decide yourself:
The forms themselves are only half the job. Most DIY applications that fail are rejected over signing mistakes — wrong order, wrong dates, wrong witnesses. Our pack makes that nearly impossible to get wrong.
One set of questions, about 15 minutes. We fill in both official forms — no double entry.
Both LPAs and your signing walkthrough as instant PDFs. No printer? Add our printed pack, posted flat to your door.
You, your certificate provider and your attorneys sign — in the exact order and places we've marked.
Post it to the Office of the Public Guardian with our pre-addressed sheet. Done.
Every option includes instant PDFs of the forms and your signing walkthrough. Printing at home is free — or add the professionally printed, posted pack at checkout (£12.99, or £19.99 for a couple's set). You can also add an advance decision ("living will") for £24 — a legally binding record of any treatments you'd refuse, matched to your LPA choices.

The government's own website lets you fill in LPA forms at no charge, and if you're comfortable doing that, we genuinely encourage it. What trips people up isn't the form — it's everything after: printing ~40 pages, working out who can legally be your certificate provider, and collecting signatures in the strict order the law requires. Get one date wrong and the OPG rejects the application, adding weeks of delay.
What you're paying us for is the finished article: both forms prepared from one set of questions, a personalised page-by-page signing plan, and plain-English help at the two moments everyone finds confusing — choosing a certificate provider, and the life-sustaining treatment decision. No printer? Add our print & post pack and it all arrives flat, on proper paper, ready to sign. If that's not worth £129 to you, gov.uk is right here. No hard feelings.
Someone over 18 you trust completely — most people choose their spouse, adult children or siblings. You can appoint more than one, and decide whether they must act together on everything or can each act alone (we explain the trade-offs as you answer). For the property & finance LPA, an attorney can't be bankrupt or subject to a debt relief order.
An independent adult who signs to confirm you understand what you're doing and nobody is pressuring you. It can be someone who has known you well for at least two years (a friend or neighbour — not family), or a professional like your GP or a solicitor. This is the part of the form people most often get wrong, so our pack spells out exactly who qualifies.
You can do all the typing and organising — but the LPA belongs to the person making it (the "donor"). Your parent must have mental capacity, make the choices about attorneys themselves, and sign first. If a parent has already lost capacity, an LPA is no longer possible and the route is a deputyship through the Court of Protection, which needs a solicitor.
Once your signed forms reach the Office of the Public Guardian, registration typically takes 8 to 10 weeks, which includes a mandatory 4-week waiting period. That's precisely why it pays to set LPAs up now, while they're easy — not when they're urgently needed.
Yes. We prepare the official Office of the Public Guardian forms (LP1F and LP1H) — the same documents a solicitor uses. An LPA becomes legally valid once it's correctly signed, witnessed and registered with the OPG, and our signing walkthrough exists to make sure that happens first time.
Most people finish in one sitting. Your pack is usually printed and posted the same day.
